I first heard of Terry Pratchett back in 2000, when I was stuck for three weeks in Salzburg, attending the EF language school. I’ve always been very shy and introverted so I had a tough time making any new friends at that school and was rather lonely. Instead, I discovered Terry Pratchett in a bookshop there and through his books made plenty of new friends.
I decided to self host my blog as it can henceforth be found at https://www.aunitech.net
Well, it’s been a while since last I posted and much has happened since. Let’s start with PC news: still playing WoW on occasion, though I guess I’ve been struck a bit by pre-expansion hiatus. Currently leveling a tankadin with heirlooms, solely through instances, lots of fun though rather slow going. Beats running up and down STV anyways. Oh… and while speaking of WoW… I’m going to BlizzCon! Ticket price for that isn’t THAT bad… at least not compared to how much it’ll cost me to fly from Helsinki to Anaheim… but I guess you need to do some crazy stuff every now and then, it’s only money after all ;p. If you’ve got any suggestions for questions to ask the devs if I get a chance, feel free to post them in the comments section, could use some ideas for that.
Well, a couple of weeks back I suddenly got the crazy idea to go buy a xbox360 controller for my PC (yes, I do an unfortunate amount of impulse buying; but surprisingly often don’t regret it, my Razer Naga being a good case of this (might write post on that later)). After a quick and easy setup I was ready to hit the games.
Well, been a bit over a week since my first blog post and so I guess it’s time to post again. Been busy with this and that… and a little bit more of this… but now I’ve got a few minutes, so let’s start covering my experiences since last time.
When Assassin’s Creed was released for the PC a couple of years back it quickly became one of my favorite games. It made running around the roofs of beautifully modeled cities both thrilling and easy. Unlike most games where you do lots of jumping and climbing; like Tomb Raider or the Prince of Persia series, where jumping can be really frustrating; AC made it both fun and effortless, it was like just flowing over the city roofs. Add to that a very nice combat mechanic and assassination moves and you had a real hit.
